The Kimbolton & Stonely Parish Council website was completely redesigned to provide a clearer, more accessible and more maintainable digital presence for the local community.

The existing site had grown organically over time and, like many parish council websites, had become difficult to navigate, inconsistent in structure, and challenging to keep compliant with modern accessibility expectations. A key objective of the redesign was to make important information — such as council meetings, documents, notices and contact details — easier for residents to find, while ensuring the site met current accessibility standards and best practices.

The new website focuses on clarity, hierarchy and usability. Content was restructured to create a logical, user-friendly navigation system, helping visitors quickly understand where to find key information without unnecessary friction. Page layouts were simplified and standardised, improving readability across all devices and making the site easier to update by council administrators.

Accessibility was a central consideration throughout the project. The redesign prioritised clear typography, appropriate colour contrast, consistent layouts and accessible document handling, supporting compliance with WCAG guidance and improving the experience for users of all abilities. Performance and reliability were also important, ensuring the website loads quickly and functions consistently across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

Beyond visual improvements, the project placed strong emphasis on long-term maintainability. The site was built with a clear content structure and reusable templates, allowing the council to manage updates efficiently and confidently without relying on ongoing technical support.
